Two court judges in Pennsylvania have been charged in a kickback scandal involving the sentencing of juveniles. In 2002, one of the judges shut down the state juevenile dentention center and gave a large amount of funding to private facilities. Which you think would raise some sort of suspicion but the state did not look into it. So the judges were finally charged with creating the potential for an increased number of juveniles to be sent to juvenile detention centers. With the increased head count number at the facilities the judges received some sort of kickbacks that ended up amounting to about 2.6 million dollars.

The rulings given to the juveniles for some of their crimes really should have raised some eyebrows about these judges. Some examples given out in the articles of were a 14 year boy accused of stealing change from an unlocked car was sent to a youth detention center then a boarding schjool for troubled teens for 9 months. Another 15 year teen was sentenced to a wilderness camp for mocking her assistant principle on myspace.

It is a sad fact that poeple in our judicial system that are supposed to be protecting our population and creating justice are doing just the opposite. They are recieving financial perks at the expense of our youths. It seems these respected judges are on the wrong side of the bench.
