Can Your Car Last A Million Miles?

This was a very interesting article to read, and it really shows that with regular maintenance and some tune ups, that your car can make it passed the million mile mark. Although not many vehicles have accomplished the feat, experts are saying that newer vehicles have the ability to do it; people are just not taking care of them. The article also talks about how the average person only keeps their vehicle around six years, which isn’t very long considering that an average person only puts 12,000 miles on a year. One of the vehicles in the million mile club is a Volvo P1800 owned by Irv Gordon. His car made the Guinness Book of World Records for its incredible high mileage. The Volvo logged over 2.6 million miles over its 43 year old life. When Gordon was asked how it lasted that long, he accredited it to regular maintenance and genuine Volvo parts. Another million mile car is the 1989 Saab 900 SPG owned by Peter Gilbert. But let’s get to the main point of the whole article. If you want your car to reach the million mile mark then here are some things to help you on your way. One, check all your fluid regularly such as oil, transmission, and radiator levels. Two, replace necessary parts on it when something breaks or needs replacing. And last but not least, most experts recommend that owners follow maintenance schedules religiously. If you follow all of these tips and take it easy on your vehicle, then you could be one of the next members to the million mile club.
